Tamaron Collies now has 66 Canadian champions and our first American Champion!!! Our latest homebred champion , Ch Tamaron’s Heartfelt (Fallon) is a litter sister to our National BOV and BPISS winner Am/Can Ch. Tamaron The Real Deal (Kennedy). Fallon finished with breed wins over Specials and group placings. We are also very proud to say that Kennedy finished 2008 as the # 2 Smooth Collie in Canada, shown only 5 weekends all year!!!! He also finished his American championship in Jan of 2009 in only 2 weekends of showing and was undefeated in the classes. Kenendy finished in the US with many BB wins over Specials.
We are a family operation established in 1988 under the direction of Trudy Taphorn. Located 3/4 hour’s drive northwest of Edmonton (Alberta, Canada), Tamaron was named Top Breeder of Rough Collies in Canada in 1992, 1999, and 2000, after which that program was discontinued by Pedigree. To date, Tamaron Collies has bred 66 champions, as well as having bred or owned the 1996 CCC National (BOS in Specialty, BW and BP), 1997 CCC National (Best in Specialty), 2004 CCC National (WB), and the 2006 CCC National (BW and BP in Specialty). The Tamaron Collies really shone at the 2007 National where they were awarded the following: Winners Dog Smooth (Ch. Tamaron’s On Edge- Noah), Reserve Winners Female Smooth (Ch. Tamaron’s Out All Night- Flirt), Best Of Variety, Best Puppy Smooth (Ch. Tamaron The Real Deal- Kennedy) who was also Best Puppy in Specialty, Winners Dog and Best of Winners Rough (Ch. Tamaron’s CassOri Stir of Echoes- Elijah), Reserve Winners Dog Rough (Ch. Tamaron’s Haute Coutour- Giorgio), Reserve Winners Female Rough (Ch. Tamaron’s Heartfelt- Fallon), and Best of Opposite Sex Rough (Ch. Blossom Hill Tamaron’s Promise- Jasmine), who was also Best of Opposite in Specialty. We also have 2 International Champions, 1 multi Specialty winning Australian Champion, 11 obedience titles, 5 Herding Instinct titles, and 6 co-bred champions and many, many obedience titled collies.
